Summer is upon us and we can’t wait for the open roads! Apart from packing and planning, you need to take care of two things before you leave. Vehicle maintenance and creating a roadside assistance kit. Make sure you have a vehicle maintenance checklist in place before your summer holidays begin to ensure that you are prepared for anything. Check out this road trip checklist before you go this summer.
Vehicle Maintenance Checklist
- Check your fluids. Check your fluid levels and make sure they are maintained. Revolution Motors can test your oil, radiator, brake, power steering, transmission, and windshield washer fluid.
- Inspect your tires. Make it sure they have enough tread and aren’t worn unevenly. Check your tire pressure before leaving. You can also keep an eye on your car’s tire pressure during your trip. You might consider doing a rotation or replacing your tires before you travel.
- Check your brake pads. Brakes can wear out quickly and we don’t often think about them until they start making a lot of noise. Have your brake pads replaced if they’re worn.
- Clean your air filter. Check for dirt and dust. Clogged filters can cause engine performance and fuel economy to drop. Air filters cost less and are easy to replace.
- Test your battery: If you have a car battery that is more than 5 years old, check for corrosion in the terminals. Also make sure the connections between the positive and the negative are tight. Revolution Motors will check the output voltage of your battery and provide you with peace-of-mind that it won’t fail you while you’re driving. It is time to change it if it is low.
- Check your lights. While you check your lights, have someone standing outside. Replace any faulty bulbs.
Revolution Motors will inspect and repair your vehicle for safety. Tune-ups are a great way to prevent any unexpected breakdowns or mishaps that could disrupt your summer plans. Schedule an appointment.
